The Dom with a Safeword

Dom with a Safeword isn’t a story I would normally pick up even though the title is intriguing as Doms usually do not have safewords. However, Cari Silverwood is fast becoming one of my favorite authors and it’s becoming really hard to pass by something that she’s contributed to. So, out of my comfort zone and into a story that totally surpassed any expectations that I might have had.

The first thing that struck me was how real these characters were. Q and Sabrina have been best friends for years and that connection came across. They respected the boundaries each had and enjoyed being with each other. Jude joins this duo when they trespass on his property looking for paranormal activity. The combination of the three is absolutely awesome and the sparks fly. The emotional pull will drag you into their lives as things go from temporary to something impossible. Insecurities, families, ex-boyfriends and so much more play a role in the lives of these characters which not only makes them real but involves you in their lives.

This is a BDSM story with some very bratty subs and Dom who knows how to control them, at least some of the time. There are some light moments as well as some not so light ones. Though Sabrina says she’s straight, she also is attracted to Q. With Jude’s help, the girls explore their attraction to each other so expect some girl on girl action but DO NOT let that thought stop you from reading this book. There are some of the best love scenes I have ever read due to the emotions that just leap off the page in this story.

While Cari Silverwood is the reason I read this book, there are two other authors that helped write it, Leia Shaw and Sorcha Black. Each took a character but the finished product is such that the story flows seamlessly and unless you’re really looking you can’t tell where one authors stops and another starts. Perhaps, in this case, three authors are better than one because each character is so unique and the scenes are spectacular.

Book Blurb for The Dom with a Safeword

Late at night, on an amateur ghost hunt, Sabrina and her best friend Q are caught trespassing by the gorgeous, blond Jude. The embers of attraction between them sizzle when they discover Jude’s kinks match their own. Jude is a Dom on his last summer of freedom before starting the prison sentence that is med school. Q is a badass bi switch who knows what she wants, and for years it's been her cute, doe-eyed straight friend Sabrina. But the only way to get into Sabrina’s heart and panties may be with Jude’s fist wrapped in her hair.

Domming the bratty Q and mischievous Sabrina isn’t going to be easy, but Jude relishes the challenge. At the end of the summer, will they find a way to stay together when everything is tearing them apart?

Warning: this book contains adult material including the use of multiple implements to bring bratty subs to their knees, scaffolding doubling as bondage apparatus, and a haunted house. No ghosts were harmed in the making of this book.
