Casey Harrington's eight year old heart was broken when she received an Eazy-Bake-Oven for Christmas instead of a Cowboy Cody doll. She swore that day she'd never cook in that oven or any other again, and she became obsessed with all things western. When her dream marketing job got offered to her on a silver platter, she found herself on a ranch in Colorado learning all about ranch life, firsthand.
Bonner Boyd is the real deal. He was born and raised on the ranch he's managing. He knows everything there is to know about cattle, fencing, the weather and women, but he wasn't prepared for feisty city-girl Casey. Nor was he prepared for the turn of events that dragged him out of his world and threw him into hers, like an seven-second ride on the back of RedRock or Bodacious.
When their worlds finally collide, Casey and Bonner find themselves in a position to explore more than just the hot sex they'd shared back at the ranch. They get to see what each other is really made of. It gives voice to that old Tammy Wynette song: Stand By Your Man.
The story line was sweet and refreshing with a few twists and turns to make it entertaining. The characters are multi-dimensional, and easy to fall in love with. I am disappointed that the description didn't come with a better warning.
This is erotic-toned romance - the sex is explicit, as to be expected, but it does not rule the story -but I would have expected a warning for anal play/sex in the description.
When all is said and done it's a good read. Sometimes you just gotta take your dreams by the horns and bulldog it to the ground.
Sexy, independent, corporate executive Casey Harrington's life and career were shaped by a childhood Christmas wish left unfulfilled. Now, twenty years later on a Colorado cattle ranch, she finally gets everything she's always wanted-both a hot cowboy and a dream job.
But Bonner "Blue" Boyd is a rancher and Casey is a New Yorker, and even if the sex between them is hot enough to start a prairie fire, they both know that city and country might mix for a week, but it can't work for a lifetime. Or can it?
When a dramatic turn of events reunite Bonner and Casey, this time on her turf in her city, she has to prove to her displaced cowboy he belongs with her, no matter where they end up. Luckily Casey knows the quickest way to a man's heart is slightly lower than his stomach.
