How to Fall

I had high expectations for this story but it fell short. However, for what it is, it is good. The main characters fall into lust and quickly start having sex as often as possible, where ever possible. There is very little dialog between them though they do hang out with a group of friends. Little personal information is exchanged and in fact, they decide not to talk about their real lives. And, though Julia is traveling during Christmas break, Christmas is totally ignored; no comments or mention of decorations, celebrations or anything. It was as if Brazil did not celebrate Christmas. By the middle of the story, the characters were finally talking but those conversations where generally not really shared with the reader in any depth. So, though love was given to emerge, it still felt like lust to me. Not to say it couldn’t become love and the indications were there that it might, but it wasn’t quite there. That saying, the sex scenes were well done and there are a lot of them. A few typical Brazilian foods and sites were incorporated into the story to give it a more exotic feel. It was an okay story with great sex.

Julia is treating herself to a fantastic vacation to Brazil during her school’s Christmas break. She’s never been there before and she’s traveling by herself. After traveling all day by bus, she arrives at a hostel she’s read about that actually has a pool! There she meets Blake, an Australian, as well as 3 of his friends. There is Julia an instant attraction but will either act on it? And, can they keep it just a vacation fling?
