Hopes, desires, dreams and reality don’t always match up and sometimes you don’t have a lot of time to make them all work. Maribeth has this problem in this story and it is easy to relate to her. Mo, Maribeth’s new love interest, is equally likeable. Their relationship and how it develops is awesome. This is the last book in this series and all the characters that you loved in all the previous books show up in this one. BUT, don’t let that fact stop you from reading this book! It stands alone and is fantastic. It’s a perfect Christmas story full of love, laughter, family and so much more. It’s a shame we’re leaving Caribou Crossing but on the other hand, these books, characters and lives will continue on in this series. Join them for Christmas (and any other time of the year) and figure out which is more important to Maribeth, a baby or a beau.
Maribeth has always known she wanted a family full of children. She hasn’t been able to find the man to spend the rest of her life with but she doesn’t see why at 39 that should stop her from having a baby. To obtain her goal of a child, Maribeth is getting ready for invitro fertilization. Mo has been way from Caribou Crossing for 20 years and never expected to come back. He’s a changed man and he has some apologizing to do. He ran out on his wife and child and now he’s trying to make amends, even if it is too late. He wasn’t planning on finding a romantic interest and he definitely does not ever want to be a father again. However, he does plan on dating Maribeth. Can they figure this out?
It’s Christmas in the cozy Western town of Caribou Crossing, the season for homecoming, forgiveness, and—just maybe—the gift of a fresh start…
As the holidays approach, the air is filled with the festive sounds of bells chiming and carolers singing. Maribeth Scott loves Christmas, but she’s pretty sure that after years of waiting, Santa isn’t finally going to gift her with Mr. Right. In fact, the only thing she truly wants for Christmas is a baby to love. At thirty-nine, she’s determined to become a mother and she will make it happen, even if she has to do it on her own.
When Mo Kincaid returns to the rustic town after almost twenty years away, he’s seeking redemption from his checkered past. For the first time in Mo’s life, the future looks bright. Only one thing stands between them: Maribeth’s deep desire for a child and Mo’s conviction that he’s too flawed to be a father. Is his world-weary heart ready to take the ultimate leap of faith?
