Accidentally Wolf

Mystic Wolves, #1

Ms. Boon usually writes ménage and about gods but she goes a new direction with this story and shows her developing skill in writing interesting characters in a diverse setting. This is a shifter story, complete with werewolves and a human that is accidently changed. As usual with Ms. Boon’s books, there is plenty of hot sex in lots of places and positions. However, it works well into the story. The world building still needs a bit of work but the basis is there and as long as you don’t need solid details, it works okay. I loved the way she incorporated family and pack into the story. After all, who doesn’t love a young critter, human or animal? Plus, the interactions between everyone gave a better feel of the characters making them feel more real. As usual, I enjoyed Ms. Boon’s unique writing style and her vivid imagination. This feels like the beginning of a new series and one that I will enjoy reading. There is plenty going on and loose ends that need to be tied. Besides sexy shifters and hot sex, there are touches of humor and a war on drugs. There is plenty to like in this story and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Cora is a veterinarian who likes to run. What she doesn’t expect to find on her run is a young wolf caught in an illegal trap. She knows she can’t just leave it there and attempts to free it. Once free, it is apparent that the wolf has a broken leg. Though she isn’t close to her clinic, Cora wraps the wolf and carries it there, only to be bit for her trouble. What she doesn’t know it this young wolf is actually a shifter and the son of the nearby pack’s alpha. The pack is looking for him and breaks into the clinic to rescue him. Cora discovers them and ends up being brought back to the pack. She thinks she’s sick. They know she’s not. It’s the bite. Plus Zahn recognizes her as his mate. As long as he doesn’t give her a second bit, she won’t change but can he resist?

Book Blurb for Accidentally Wolf

For veterinarian Cora Welch, being bitten by a young injured wolf wasn’t the best day of her life, nor the raging fever that followed. However, finding herself faced with a naked man proved even more than she had ever bargained for.

Zayn couldn’t believe what his inner wolf was telling him when he first saw the human doctor Cora, standing in nothing but a towel. The last thing he wanted was a mate, especially an accidental one. And at a time when danger seemed to be coming at the Mystic Pack from an unknown source, it just wasn’t in his plans.

All he had to do was get Cora through the fever, keep her safe from the other pack, and keep his fangs to himself. But nobody told him he’d have to fight a mating urge so strong within himself, that it was a losing battle. Now, he has to explain to Cora that he accidentally marked her for a second time, making her just like him.

Cora knew something was not right in her world the moment she wanted to climb her rescuer like a tree. Hearing Zayn tell her she was now a werewolf, like him and his pack, she realized she now had a home. If her new mate still wanted her after he heard about her family, Cora knew she’d be happy to be an accidental wolf.
