Here's the thing, there is a very good reason why Kristen Ashley, in a short length of time, has replaced every one of my favorite authors at the very top of my Absolutely Must Be Read List. She has the astounding ability to create characters who have the perfect balance of depth, strength and emotions. What does that mean? It means that I get all wrapped up in her books and the character's lives. K.A. never lets me down and I always finish her books feeling satisfied with the story yet wanting more. In a nutshell, I can't get enough!
Fire Inside happened to coincide with the first book in the new series, Own the Wind. Whereas the first book was exceptionally wonderful, it was setting up the new series, so she had to spend some time on that. This one... not so much. This book centers completely around Lanie & Hop's love story. I felt that the story was incredibly romantic and the love scenes were incendiary. I'm talking some hot stuff here. The romance part was brilliantly written, as I've come to expect from the Queen of Romance, as I like to call K.A.
Throughout the book I saw Hop fighting to help Lanie accept their relationship and deal with some pretty fierce demons of her own. Lanie stumbled a few times and the scenes got emotionally poignant here & there.
Hop... be still my pounding heart! Yep, he stole my heart & he won't give it back. I've said it before & I'll say it again... K.A. writes the BEST EVER alpha dudes. The best I've ever had!
So you know I loved it & I'm recommending it to all my friends everywhere. I’m going to turn everyone on to this goodness that is Kristen Ashley.
