Jake’s Alchemy by G.G. Royale is a sexy and romantic romp of a short story. Falling at just under 33 pages or so, I was surprised how much I thoroughly got involved with the main characters in the story, and I hated to see it come to an end.
Jake Sanders has been in the Peace Corps for two years. It’s the day before the fourth of July and Jake is feeling homesick. Even though Jake knows he only has six weeks left of service, he still wishes he was home with his family. Instead, he finds himself at Penam Beach with a few days off soaking up the sun. The warm sun coaxes Jake to sleep, and he is awakened by a very sexy New Zealander named Desi. Desi is a professional surfer there to enjoy the sun and waves for a couple of days. The attraction is immediate between the two men, and when Desi invites Jake to a party the next night that is celebrating the holiday, Jake immediately says yes. The next night, Jake and Desi meet and Desi shows Jake that being away from his family isn’t so bad at all.
This was a very hot and sexy short story. I really liked both heroes Jake and Desi and I hated for their story to come to an end. Even though, both men are polar opposites, they connect with one another on a deeper level. They felt it, I as a reader felt it, and I thought they really fit together perfectly. Desi is very sexy and irresistible and I loved everything about him. I could just hear his sexy New Zealander accent in my mind, and I understood with Jake was so captivated with him.
There is a happy for now ending with a strong hint that these two men will end up truly falling in love and having their happy ending together. I certainly hope so. I would love to read more about them. Just when I thought the story was getting extremely interesting…it ended. I’m hoping that on day the author will take pity on this reader and whoever else reads and falls in love with these characters that Ms. Royale will continue their story someday. In the meantime, I hope that Ms. Royale will write more M/M romances in the future because I’m definitely going to be looking for more from this author.
I found Ms. Royale website and found it quite informative about her current and works in process. Here is the link if you are interested: http://www.ggroyale.com/
