Rock Star Baby is the first book in the Bad Oak Boys series by Erin M. Leaf.
Ryan Oakley is the lead singer of Bad Oak. He thinks he is straight until he meets Bardulf Forst, his mate. Bardulf is the Alpha-Heir to his pack. When he meets Ryan he realizes who he is and mates, and bonds with Ryan while Ryan learns what everything means after it happens. Now Ryan and Bardulf try to make their relationship work while they have drastically different lives.
The beginning of the story leaves you wanting to know more. At by the end of the first chapter, I could not wait to finish the book. The author did a good job of drawing the reader into her world. She did a great job of making it very realistic. The pace of the story was a bit slow at some points and fast is others.
The main characters and the secondary characters were interesting and realistic. Both Ryan and Bardulf had faults that they each had to battle making them realistic. The point of view alternated between Ryan and Bardulf, giving the reader a glimpse inside both characters. The changing point of view was done with care so the reader did not get lost or repeat storylines. The main conflict of the story is the relationship between Ryan and Bardulf and how complicated it is. At times how complicated the relationship between Ryan and Bardulf was overwhelming. The dialogue between the characters was genuine and distinctive. The characters voices matched not only the setting but fit their overall personality. The ending was a bit predictable but the author takes the reader on a wonderful journey. I hope we get to see these characters again in the future.
Ryan Oakley, lead singer of Bad Oak and heartthrob extraordinaire, isn’t looking for a girlfriend. He’s definitely not looking for a boyfriend, but after the explosive encounter he has with a guy he meets backstage, he realizes he’s more flexisexual than he’d thought. Of course, suddenly being able to shift into a wolf is an unexpected side effect he didn’t expect and can barely control.
Bardulf Forst is Alpha-Heir to his pack, but he can’t resist his little sister when she begs him to meet Ryan Oakley. When he realizes the sexy singer is his mate, he can’t deny instinct. He claims the famous rock star even though he knows his father won’t approve: heirs are supposed to have children and two males can’t reproduce.
Little do they know that they’re about to experience an ancient shifter biological imperative: when two male Alphas mate, unexpected miracles sometimes happen.
