Poor Little Daddy’s Girl is the third book in the Daddy’s Girl series by Normandie Alleman. While this book can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel. It does help understand Charmaine better if you have read the other books in the series.

The beginning of the story is set in a way that leaves you wanting to know more. At the end of the first chapter, I could not wait to finish this story. I have been waiting for this story! The author easily drew the reader in to her world. She was able to establish not only a place but time frame. She did a great job of making it very realistic. The story was well paced all the way through, not to fast or too slow. The main characters and the secondary characters were fascinating and realistic. Charmaine and Hunter had flaws that made them more authentic. The secondary characters helped make the story more believable.

The point of view alternated between Hunter and Charmaine, giving the reader a peek at inside both characters. The changing point of view was done in a way so the reader did not get lost in the story or repeat story lines. The main issue of the story was Hunter and Charmaine’s relationship. Charmaine is a complicated characters with a lot of issues. Hunter is able to keep her line and she keeps him on his toes. The dialogue between the characters was genuine and distinctive. The characters voice matched not only the setting but fit their overall personality. The ending was a bit predictable story is filled with twists and turns that keep the reader on their toes all the way through. I hope we get to see these characters again in the future.
