Huon was determined to carry out the mission he had been assigned. He was trained by the best. Tybor worked him until he was fast, smart and deadly. Tybor also became the object of Huon's new found lust. But both were Dvallin. Their kind didn't do feelings and same sex coupling was unheard of. They inhabited the Underworld and were considered demons by the humans that populated the surface. Huon's mission was to take out the Gatekeepers who had found a way to their world and were decimating their population. It was a suicide mission and Tybor went AWOL to help Huon. Once on the surface, the men needed to seduce the scientist who works for the Gatekeeper. Judie thought her boss was crazy but if he wanted to pay her to invent weapons that killed make-believe demons, then she was fine with it. However, she meets two men who will change her life and shake the foundation of her existence. The mission turns deadly and all three must wrestle will new emotions and old beliefs.
Every once in while a story surprises me. This one did. The author has created a new and intriguing world with a very creative twist on demons and the underworld. She manages to convey the particulars of this world with astonishing efficiency and detail. Huon and Tybor have an interesting relationship before they meet Judie and it only builds from there. Judie is wonderful heroine. She is stunned by her discoveries but can't help her feelings for the men. The sex is awesome and angst filled. The simmering sexual tension between the men is palpable and their chemistry with Judie makes for some very hot encounters. Underneath all this sensuality is an very well written and engaging story. I hope it just the beginning in this fascinating universe. Highly recommended!
Combat-hardened Dvallin warrior Tybor has no room in his life for softness or sentiment. His job is to train the soldiers who stand between his people and destruction.
