Seductive Intent

Brendan plays the part of playboy very well, but he hides a lot of his true self. Why? We never really find out, but he’s more than meets the eye. That’s what draws in con artist Sophia. Who is really conning whom here?

Her whole life is a mystery, most of all to herself. She doesn’t know her own birthday or last name. The few things that are hers she holds close, so why on her latest “assignment” is she opening up to her mark? Brendan is getting through all her barriers without even trying and this time, the payoff won’t be money or a bauble. It could be her future -- if she and Brendan can keep themselves alive.

I enjoyed this second story about the Beckett siblings as much as the first. And there are hints of a third. Goody goody! While I thought I knew what was going on the author threw a monkey wrench in my thinking and upset my logic with a strange adversary I didn’t see coming. Kudos to the author for that.

While Sophia was a professional and sophisticated in her craft of deception she was a total innocent when it came to real emotions and that is what attracted Brendan and kept him coming back. While her whole life was built on lies she was always honest with Brendan. Mostly. And when it came down to it she was honest then. A lovely read full of fun, flirting and explosive emotion between two people who made it a habit not to show their soft underbellies to anyone. Except each other. And that should have been their first hint that they were meant to mean more to one another than anyone else. A hot and romantic read with a few intriguing mysteries thrown in for good measure.

Book Blurb for Seductive Intent

Set in the same world as Executive Perks.

It’s not unusual for playboy Brendan Beckett to wake up with a girl in his bed. One holding a gun to his head, though, does give him pause. In the dark, he can’t see the female burglar grilling him about some safe, but he has to admit he likes the feel of her straddling him to keep him still.

Sophia may not know her last name or her real age, but she knows the life of crime, usually as bait for the rich men she cons. But now she’s looking for a mysterious puzzle-box that her mentor urgently needs. When she can’t get any information out of Brendan during her midnight foray into his apartment, she crashes his sister’s wedding to meet him and hopefully spark his interest.

The stacked beauty sparks something, all right—his suspicion. At his house in the Cayman Islands, Brendan’s determined to get the truth out of her. Or seduce her. Actually, he’s kind of good either way. Book Length: Novel
