Saddling Brenda

Escaping from Atlanta seemed imperative to Brenda. Now a widow, she goes someplace she can get lost and try to recover from the stress of her life. While an educated woman she wasn’t prepared for the differences Montana presented. Stranded in the snow in a sports car she’s relieved when she’s rescued by a passerby who offers to take her to her destination. Feelings she’s never had before make themselves known in the warm cab of his truck. How to handle her attraction becomes her primary concern.

Denny did the rodeo circuit, had his share of buckle bunnies, and is now working for the family business. Power is their game, literally, and as he’s running lines he comes across a damsel in distress. As any gentleman would he offers his assistance, and in no more than a few minutes is ready to offer a whole lot more. He’s been with lots of women in his life; what makes this one so attractive while bundled up in a parka? And when she takes off her coat he just wants to know where the nearest flat surface is.

The author went with an instant attraction scenario, with reticence on Brenda’s side, but I didn’t initially feel the chemistry. I was a little put off by the immediate intimacy and don’t know why. Maybe the secluded surroundings made it a little too uncomfortable. After that, and some insight into the workings in Brenda’s mind, I felt the interaction a little more keenly and liked the awakening that Brenda was going through. For a love ‘em and leave ‘em type Denny seemed to change his spots awful fast and that took some absorption as well. All in all, a good read with a few flow problems but an admirable flair for erotic love scenes.
