England, 1808-The day before her wedding Cassandra and her fiancé stop at an inn; they have eloped there and have premarital sex the same night. Next morning, Cassandra is waiting for her fiancé to come and get her and take her to the wedding place at Gretna Green, Scotland. She wonders where he is and the innkeeper tells her he saw her fiancé steal a horse and run off. She runs out of the inn with the innkeeper in hot pursuit of her to get money from her because she did not pay for her breakfast. Two men ride up and one of the men pays the bill. The man who paid the bill is Cassandra’s long time friend Phillip. Phillip finds out that she had premarital sex and asks her to be his mistress. Will she accept or hold out for something more like love?
