Current Release: Adam's Obsession
Describe your current release in two sentences?
When Adam Trillo begins to suspect that his erotic online playmate is actually his adorably demure co-worker, Kat Hart, he can't help but tease her, lure her, seduce her into his bed. When he discovers what she really wants is to be tied to that bed...he's lost.
Please describe your writing environment.
I write wherever I am when the muse deigns to visit. (She visits a lot)
What are you working on?
I just finished edits to Tristan's Temptation, the sequel to Adam's Obsession, wherein Adam's brother is bewitched, bothered and bewildered by his sexy secretary--whom he considers off limits because she works for him. Shannon puts Tristan between a rock and a very hard place. Next on the docket is my erotic Regency, Folly, which features a dark-hearted hero who must, of course, be redeemed.
What do you feel blessed with?
I feel blessed to have an editor who loves my writing and keeps asking to see something new. As a brand new author, I must admit, I am thrilled to hear from my readers, especially when what they say is: More!
What was your childhood ambition?
I was diagnosed with dyslexia as a child (seriously, my universe is backwards). They told my mom I might be able to learn how to read, but would probably never be able to write. I guess they didn't know my mom. She gave me such a love of books and stories, reading to me from Little House on the Prairie and the Boxcar Children every night, it was inevitable that I would want to become a writer.
What is your favorite TV show?
Right now it's between Game of Thrones and Toddlers in Tiaras. I know. Eclectic and weird, but that's me!
Where do you want to travel?
I've Scottish blood in my veins, so I've always had a hankering to go there. London is also on my list (I can write that off, right??). I've also always fantasized about a Mediterranean cruise. Also, anywhere with chocolate.
What are your plans for the summer? Any books you are looking forward to?
I plan to spend this summer in a galaxy far, far away. My editor has asked me to work on a sexy space opera--Firefly meets Game of Thrones (with lots of hot alien sex). I have the series sketched out and am working on character development, but right now I have six sold books to edit and probably won't be able to seriously write until summer. I only hope I can get an internet connection on Celedon.
How was your road to publication? Have you every had to deal with rejection letters?
My road to publication was rocky. I don't know an author who had it easy. I used to keep a spreadsheet of all my rejections, but my fingers started hurting from all the typing. I think I've been rejected by just about everyone at some point. But I am a firm believer in perseverance, and trusting the universe to bring it to you when you're ready. My big break was winning the Novellas Need Love Too Contest, sponsored by the Celtic Hearts. I'd won contests before, but this time it took. Three books finaled, and all three sold.
What is the one thing you do not want to live without?
My greatest treasure is the friendships I have built with other writers. I spent years going at this all alone and I'm not going back there. There's nothing like sitting down to coffee with a friend who gets it, who lives it. I have two amazing critique groups and several RWA chapters filled with like minded writers. They are, simply said, the reason I am here today.
What has been the best way for you to engage readers?
Facebook is one of my favorite ways to connect with readers. It's such a friendly environment and I enjoy seeing pictures of the people I'm talking to! Speaking of pictures, I am also obsessed with Pintrest. You can tell so much about people by the photos they pin. My boards have super hot and sexy guys, right next to snort-your-milk-through-your-nose humor. Also, super hot and sexy guys with milk.
What is the best thing about being an author?
The best thing about being an author is that I get to live my dreams. Over and over again. (That was an editing joke).
Thanks for reading! I hope you visit my website and check out my covers and read some excerpts. I am always excited to hear from readers, so don't be shy.
Keep it hot,
