A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: Tara

After suffering through years of torture and near death at her mother's hands, Jordan Sumner is ready to leave the pain behind and begin her life again. Her first step: getting a tattoo to always remind her of the guardian angel who saved her. When she first sees Gabe, the tattoo artist, she is struck by a powerful recognition that she can't explain. She doesn't know how he's connected to her, she just knows with a certainty that he is. But Gabe is standoffish and wants as little to do with her as possible. How can she explain her feelings to him without sounding crazy and scaring him away?

Most of the Fallen can remember their existence as angels, but Gabriel Wilder has no recollection of his life prior to the last eight years. Thankfully, he has found a family with his two best friends and has made a life for himself as a tattoo artist; always being careful not to let anyone get too close. That is, until the beautiful blonde comes in and asks for him specifically. Try as he might to ignore the chemistry between them, he can't deny that something powerful is there. Why does he feel like he knows her when they only just met and why does he feel like he's been waiting his entire life for her?

Fallen was the first book I've read from Karen Erickson and I can say with a certainty, she has a new fan. I was drawn in with the obscenely beautiful cover art and stayed hooked until the very end. The idea of the Fallen going through life just waiting to find the human they fell for was so bittersweet, I couldn't help but fall with them. Gabriel came across as a pretty unlikeable person, but any doubts I had about him vanished when we were given a glance of his angel form. He was so hard in real life, so to have that glimpse of his pure love just took my breath away. Jordan was exactly the kind of heroine I look for in a book; someone who experienced the worst in life and came out stronger for it. The connection between her and Gabe was undeniably tender, but still smoking hot. Fallen was filled with dark sensuality and complex emotions and it was over far too soon. I would have loved to spend more time in their world!

Book Blurb for Fallen

Loose Id Review Coordinator Jordan Sumner is ready to embrace her new life. After nearly dying at the hands of her mother, moving to a new town offers new possibilities. First on her agenda? Get a tattoo. She just doesn't expect the tattoo artist to be so incredibly sexy or for her to recognize him as the guardian angel who saved her life years ago.

Gabriel Wilder knows the minute he sees Jordan she's different from any other woman he's ever met. A fallen angel with no memory of his past, he senses Jordan is linked to him. He's drawn to her sexually--in every sort of way. They're meant for each other and no matter how much he fights it, he knows it's a waste of his time.

An unknown evil is sent from Jordan's past and is ready to sink its claws into her. Gabe must fight to save what he considers his--Jordan. But is he strong enough to fend off the demon who wants Jordan as his sacrifice, now that he's fallen...fallen for her?
