A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: Shnoogiepoo

Head NHL coach, Mark Diego, has returned to his fire-ravaged hometown to help his brother who runs a rec-center for troubled youth. In tow are two of his young hockey players who were given the option of community service or suspension for a fight with a rival team after a Stanley Cup game.

Rainey Saunders is the youth program director. To say she’s slightly shocked when Mark shows up after she’s asked Rick – Mark’s brother – for coaches for the summer is an understatement. Mark was her teenage crush, and her most humiliating failure. Since the night of her sixteenth birthday when she sneaked into his apartment intending to confess her love and give him her virginity, only to find him getting a blow job from another girl, she’s avoided him like the plague.

Now she’s forced to work with him, and though the sparks fly she’s refusing to let him anywhere close to her heart again. It’s gonna be strictly sex and on her terms or nothing. Mark’s fine with this because he knows he could never be anything more than a here-and-now kind of guy. He only has endgame when it comes to his career.

There were times I didn’t like Rainey, but not for her lack of character, just for the choices she made. Mark too for that matter. I just wanted to slap them both upside the head and say. “Get with the program already, you’re killing each other!” You see the metaphorical train wreck coming but there’s nothing you can do about it, and it just breaks your heart. In my opinion it’s the sign you’ve found a fabulous read, when you get emotionally invested in the outcome.

And that’s exactly what Time Out was. A fabulous read. Lots of hot against-the-wal-sex, a little dirty talk and some language. Everything I love about Jill Shalvis. This is Harlequin Blaze at its best; A healthy combination of light-Erotic and steamy Romance.

NHL coach Mark Diego's plan to spend his off-season volunteering in his hometown goes awry when he learns that not only is he coaching teenage girls, but that the program is coordinated by energetic (and five feet two inches of trouble) coordinator Rainey Saunders, his childhood friend-and the woman he could never stand to see dating any other guy..

When their tempers flare, Mark and Rainey discover their fireworks don't just burn angry-they burn very, very hot! But that'll just sweeten the victory. Because Mark always plays to win. And with Rainey, he's planning on playing very dirty, too.
