Kate Cartwell is a lawyer on a well- deserved vacation. She has plans to spend it just lying on the beach and catching up on her law journals. While relaxing, a man stands over her, as she describes him he’s “tall, dark and hell no!” He’s 6 foot 3 and 200 pounds of blue-eyed eye candy with a price tag she just can’t afford. But Julian Morell would not be denied, he boldly tells Kat (as she prefers to be called.) that he wants to make love to her. Kat declines his erotic invite, but her body was screaming for him to stay and make good on his promises. But as Kat watches him on the beach, she becomes obsessed and goes over to him to give him a piece of her mind. She gets even more frustrated with him and walks off. Julian decides then and there that Kat will submit to him. He is experienced in his game. He would get her to submit, give her something to remember him by for the rest of her life, and then move on. That was his pattern, and that was the way he liked it. Julian meets Kat while she’s at dinner and proposes a one night scenario of domination and submission. No strings attached. Kat refuses, but soon finds herself in Julian’s suite and a night of dominance and submission commences. The next morning, Kat runs away while Julian is out of the room, not wanting to face rejection. And Julian returns to find Kat gone, and that being the one that gets left hurts. Julian decides that their time together isn’t quite finished so he tracks her down, and hires her at her law firm to represent his family’s company. Then Julian and Kat finally decide to take one more chance on love! I LOVED this book! I have to say it was one of the hotter BDSM stories I’ve read, but very tastefully done. Definitely got my blood pumping. Julian starts out as quite the cocky character (and really, what dominant isn’t?) but he’s really likable. Kat is a very strong, proud woman who proves that a submissive can be tough and confident. The writing in this flows so well and I enjoyed every word from start to finish. (It is going on my keeper list!) Reese Gabriel is a wonderful writer; I know I’ll be reading more of her books in the future!
