A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: ELF
Holly's Big Bad Santa by Starla Kaye explores whether you really can go home again after leaving under less than ideal circumstances. Jared Danville escaped the town named after his family just before Christmas fifteen years prior. He has experienced his share of dangerous situations and is recovering from serious injuries when his parents finally track him down and request that he return home and also inform that his former sweetheart, Holly Jacobs, is selling her shop and leaving town. He has tried to shed his former life and has even gone so far as to become engaged a couple of times but something keeps him from being completely happy in his new life even though he has a successful but somewhat dangerous business on the West Coast. Christmas has never been the same since Jared left and he hasn't celebrated it for years but can the former Marine mend all of his broken bridges and make this a holiday to remember? Only if he can forgive himself as well as find forgiveness in Holly's heart.
An enjoyable and sizzling holiday story with an attractive but conflicted strong male but a somewhat annoyingly forgiving love interest. Fifteen years is an awful long time to pine away for a stubborn hard-headed man who doesn't even stay in touch long enough to reassure family and friends that he is still alive. Nicely sensual intimate encounters and an enjoyable glimpse of small town life with a sweet Christmas theme.
