A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: Daisiemae

I am starting to love the writing team of Clancy Nacht and Thursday Euclid. I've read and reviewed several of their books and I've liked and even loved every one of them. So, I admit was excited to read and review I'll Be Your Man by them. For one thing, I adore the cover and it perfectly captures the sexual and emotional chemistry between the main characters completely. Plus, it's a May/December romance and a very well-written and interesting May/December romance at that. Once I started reading I'll Be Your Man, I read it cover to cover without stopping. The story immediately caught my attention and kept me in its grasp until the last word.

Richard Lynch is a highly successful executive that has built a safe, comfortable life for himself. Richard is a middle aged man who is still carrying a torch for his ex-wife and has a twenty-something son, Kyle, that just comes around when he wants something. When Richard finds out that Kyle took five thousand dollars out of Richard's bank account without permission, Richard insists on meeting with him. But, Richard is shocked when Kyle arrives with a sexy young man in tow. Richard is immediately captivated by the younger man, Paul Watkins and as the night progresses Richard's attraction to Paul intensifies and a friendship develops between the two of them.

Paul Watkins is a son of a has-been rock star and a struggling writer. Because he watched his wayward father fall in and out of bed with man women, he's determined to have a meaningful relationship of his own one day. Although Kyle has been his best friend for some time, he's never met his father until Kyle conned him into going to dinner with them. The minute he meets Richard he feels an emotional pull toward the older man. Richard is everything that Paul wants in a man; he's stable, smart, funny and sexy as hell. As Richard and Paul's fall in love they are bombarded with obstacles that try to break them up. Will the love and friendship they have for one another be enough to fight through all of the things that are trying to pull them apart?

I loved, loved, LOVED this book! One of the great things about the Nacht/Euclid writing team is the fast paced storyline and the dialog between the two characters. Because of this, I really get the feeling that their heroes really come to like and then love each other. As the book progresses their emotional bond deepens and by the end of the book, I was totally captivated by Richard and Paul's love for one another.

I also thought that the way they approached the age difference between Richard and Paul was well done. The issues and possible problems with May/December romances were tackled and not swept under the rug. These issues were dealt with realistically and both characters approached their relationship with open eyes and an open mind, and as a reader, I really appreciated that.

I can't wait to read more by the Nacht/Euclid writing team. As their other books, I'll Be Your Man, has found permanent places on my keeper shelf where I will re-read and enjoy them over and over again.

Genre: LGBT Contemporary
Length: Novel

Richard Lynch is a 50-something executive with an ex-wife he's still hung up on and a son in grad school who only calls when he wants something. In his professional life, Richard's successful and in control, but his personal life consists of little more than sitting down in front of the television set at seven and being in bed by nine.

Then he meets his son Kyle's best friend and roommate, Paul Watkins, the handsome gay son of a former rockstar. Richard's bland, predictable world is thrown into chaos by Paul's sweetly determined pursuit of him. To some Richard's new lease on life seems like a mid-life crisis and Paul's infatuation seems motivated by daddy issues, but to Richard, Paul is his chance to explore a part of himself he's kept buried all his life. With friends, family, and their pasts threatening to keep them apart, what will it take for each to become the other's man?
